The University of Alaska Fairbanks, founded in 1917, is one of a handful of land-grant, sea-grant and space-grant colleges in the United States and also contributes to Oregon State University’s sun-grant program. The university offers 190 degree programs in over 120 disciplines. It is also home to 9 academic schools.

The university offers a variety of bachelor’s, master’s and associate’s degrees online, as well as a number of professional certificates and occupations endorsements. Bachelor’s degree offerings include business, criminal justice and homeland security. Available master’s degree programs include business and design. In an effort to make college affordable, the university created the Pledge Program, which has been in place for almost 30 years. It guarantees the same tuition rate for all four years a student attends the university. The university has almost 30,000 students, over 150 degree programs and more than 30 campuses throughout Arizona.

Over 100 of the 150 degree programs the university offers are also available online. Bachelor’s degree offerings include criminal justice, small business administration and information technology. Master’s degree options include geospatial sciences and education. There is only one doctoral program available, nursing, but that may change sooner rather than later. As far as certificates go, there are such topics as assistive technology, police leadership and speech-language pathology.

Online students will be able to access an online job board, library, journal article database and online study guides in several languages.

The Higher Learning Commission provides accreditation for Northern Arizona University.
