The job description for a nurse is very simple. They do many things through out the day such as monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in the patients' condition's. They see the patients more times a day than the doctor does. They are the ones who help patients all day long. If they need help getting change, going to the bathroom, have a head ache the nurses are the ones who do all that. Nurses report to the doctor if they need help with a patient or have a major concern but most the time the nurses do the most work. They are there to help the patient get healthy again and support them. Nurses do so much more than just check on patients. They do so much for so many people.
A few more things that they do are maintain accurate details reports and record. They record patients' medical information and vital signs. Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patients' conditions. Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients responses and conditions. Direct or supervise less-skilled nursing or healthcare personnel or supervise a particular unit. Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans. These are just a few more things they do they do so many more. They need to be able to multitask, do math, be patient, be helpful, know what to say at the right time, they need have compassion, good communication, ethics, critical thinking skills, attention to detail, confidence, adaptability and so many more. I have a few of these skills I will say I do not always have as much patients as I should and somedays It is hard to multitask and I do not always know what to say and when to say it. But I always try my best to keep progressing forward to achieve having more skills and so my best to get better at some skills that I already do
