Intervention Implementing is the fourth step of the nursing process. “In implementing, nursing action planned in the previous step carried out.” (Taylor, 2015, p. 303) Throughout the process, get the continuous data collection, and document the data. The purpose of the implementing is supporting the patient to reach desired outcomes by promoting/restoring health, preventing illness, and facilitate coping with altered function. Robert McClelland, which was that he will eat at least one meal by himself by 1800 hour today (2/20/2017) and a long- term goal which was to perform his activities of daily living by himself until the end of this month in the third step of the nursing process. If the patient achieves the outcome, this should be documented in the evaluation statement and if Mr. Robert McClelland is not meeting his goal by a particular period of time, the health care provider needs to change his/her outcome and plan of care. The nurse has to repeat all steps of nursing process for a new outcome for Mr. Robert McClelland. Summary of Nursing Process The nursing process is very important for all nurses as well as patients and their family. The nurse has to put all activities of the patient in an orderly and sequential list.
