I discovered that the Big Island is twice as big than all of the other Hawaiian islands. Comparing the Big island to Oahu, there is no doubt that the Big Island is bigger than Oahu. The Big Island also brings more volcanoes, land, and beaches than Oahu ever had. For example, Oahu has no active volcanoes, however the Big Island has two active volcanoes ready to erupt. The Big Island also has many beautiful green and black sand beaches, unfortunately Oahu does not contain either of these beaches.The Big Island and Oahu have many similarities; however, they also have several differences. One similarity is that both volcanoes had hot spots. Hot spots are significantly small spots that have a higher temperature than other surrounding areas. The Big Island has a hot spot under its active volcanoes, and Oahu have them under the land too. Second, both Big Island and Oahu has volcanoes. For example, studies show that Oahu has a population size of 953,207 people. The Big Island has a population size of 186,738 people. This shows that Oahu has a bigger population size than the Big Island. Lastly, Oahu has a hotter climate. For example, Big Island has an average temperature of 80 degrees Celsius and Big Island has an average temperature of 70 degrees Celsius.
