Oak Hills facility is a manufacturing unit under TOGS which provides upstream services to public and the government owned energy companies. It produces test equipment used in Exploration and Extraction unit (E & E). As there have been rumours that a wave of mergers and acquisitions has taken place within the oil and gas industry, Oak Hills has been one of the primary target of their main headquarters competitor, Pasadena Services. Thus a project team has been tasked to assist in the improvement of the facility operations processes through the lean system. They have to ensure that the workers are properly trained and provide better education on how the processes and steps of the manufacturing operations. This has to be implemented in every employee to achieve a good result in teamwork and success. Secondly, they have to develop trust and faith among the team. A team-based organization is focused on the work processes because teams has been designed around the process (Miller, 2015). The management of Oak Hills and the workers also need to established communication with each other to understand the issues and problems faced within the company. Also in some departments, the benefits and rewards are given in a team instead of individual which makes it unfair for productive workers. Successfully developing lean manufacturing processes requires true commitment from everyone involved (Ingram, 2009). Dealing with rush orders also create an impact on the morale as workers need to step up their stress level and involves a lot of movements in that situation. Also with the lack of sufficient supply chain information, workers also experiences lack of communication and coordination with the management. Thus to mitigate this issue, they have to adopt the supply chain management practice to improve efficiency in the production process through improve information sharing between the management and workers. This will provide a transparency on any issues involve. The management also need to plan and implement changes in a way that the workers are not feeling stressed of left out. This can be done through the benefits of the lean system in the form of incentives or awards to boost the employees
