Paradise is a movie starring Octavia Spencer, Russell Brand and Julianne Hough. Long story short of this movie, Lamb Mannerheim, who is played by Julianne Hough, is a 21-year-old plane crash/burn victim who stops believing in God due to her accident and takes some of her settlement money and flies to explore the adventurous land of Las Vegas, Nevada. But, little does she know she is actually in Paradise, Nevada. Her first night there she meets William and Loray, two best friends from opposite sides of the country that work together at a club, who she refers to as her angles. George and Lennie 's relationship is closer than most friendships now a days. George is like Lennie 's big brother and cares for him like their family. For example, when Lennie got in trouble in Weed, George did not leave him and helped him escape. Another example of George acting like a big brother to Lennie is, he holds on to Lennie 's work card so he does not lose it. George also really cares for Lennie and does not want him to leave.

In the book of Mice and Men, the theme Companionship is essential to life to like shown by Lennie and Crooks conversation, the shooting Candy’s dog, and Curley’s wife talking to the other men. The conversation between Lennie and Crooks is an example of how companionship is life. Crooks is a black man who is separated from the rest of the workers and has no one to talk to. Lennie was in the barn playing with his pup and the other men had gone into town. He saw Crooks and light and walked up to the doorway.

Reflection on the 5-Days Journey to Become a Better Listener Throughout the 5-days practice of active listening and basic attending skills in daily conversations, it was easiest for me to practice empathy. I found it easy to perceive the situation through others’ eyes and perspectives in order to capture the accurate meaning when I was nonjudgemental and listened attentively to others.
