Ten years after the Trojan war Odysseus, Greek war victor, has failed to return to his homeland, Ithaca. His son Telemachus sets out with the “gray-eyed goddess”, Athena, daughter of Zeus, to search for his whereabouts. Odysseus travels through the following lands until he finally reaches his home land:
Troy- Odysseus and his crew members sent out from Troy after he had won the Trojan war and defeated the Romans.
Ismaros in the land of the Cicones- Here Odysseus and his men looted and rob the city of all its wealth, but the next morning were attacked by the Cicones. They fled to their ships but lost many men in the process. On their departure they were blown off course an aggressive storm.
Land of the Lotus Eater- The ships landed here and Odysseus set out a crew to scout the area( 3 men I think). The men found the natives who gave them lotus fruits that caused the to no longer desire to go home . Odysseus went to find them, brought them back against their will and then he and his crew set to sea. …show more content…

Odysseus and his men go out to get some food from the Cyclops Polyphemus but instead of taking it he waited and was captured along with some of this crew. Sadly Polyphemus eats two of him men every day. Odysseus cunningly tricks the cyclops by intoxicating him and then drives a smoldering wooden stake into his eye, blinding him. He and his remaining men are able to escape but not without feeling the wrath of the god Poseidon. ( He curses Odysseus to wander the sea for ten year, and by the end of those ten years he will have also lost all of his crew
