Even though the people we call heroes do not normally start out as unusual but if Odysseus was in our date in time then he would be considered unusual. Not only does he talk to gods but in our culture mainly we only believe in one god but he believes in many. He was a leader of an island and to many of his people he was considered one of the gods. He was a good leader and was also loyal to his people, except his wife. He was a worrier and also a great person to most of his companions. He had a bit of a temper and he loved to fight.
Many do not have to be called out to war to be a hero. Some are a hero because of their actions in their everyday, ordinary lives. Odysseus is not one of those people. He had to be taken from his home and kingdom and brought out to a war to fight. He was an excellent fighter and he was smart on the spot. He was a great companion to his men and all of the other men fighting by his side. This all changes when he heads into battle against troy and their huge wall. In the beginning he does not seem to know what he is doing and the war goes on for years. It took him ten years to figure out that the trogons were followers and worshipers of the almighty God Poseidon, who is believed to be the god of the sea, and creator of horses. So at night Odysseus sneaks into toy by building a huge “Trojan Horse” out of his own ships hiding all of his men still alive in it. After they are in the palace they kill all of the men inside to win the war. Odysseus was a very smart man but because of his culture he decided to go to the beach right outside of the trogon’s palace and get duck until they pass out.
