Leadership is the action of qualities to lead a group of people. Leaders provide information to his/her crew to help visualize the plan and provide tasks for their crewmates to get the task done. They also do the right thing and can step in during a time of crisis. Odysseus was a warrior from Greek mythology who went on a 20-year voyage to return back to Ithaca to his family, following his victory in the Trojan War. I think Odysseus is a great leader because of his intelligence, courage, and determination. The first reason Odysseus is a great leader is because of his courage. The first example of his courage was leaving his wife, son and kingdom to risk his life in the Trojan War. The Trojan War was a long, dangerous event and he could have died there. He tells Penelope that if he doesn’t come back in time, she should find a new man. He takes the risk of his kingdom falling apart and leaving his Penelope to a new man. The last example of his courage has he shared his idea. He was not afraid to take charge and visualize a plan. He was not afraid to express his idea. The first example of his intelligence was the idea and execution of his plan behind the wooden horse. He uses everyone’s' skills to share tasks with his army. He uses everyone’s' skills to get the Trojan horse done. According to the passage, it says, "Epeius, you are a master builder. I trust you will design and make us a horse that meet our needs and be worthy of Athena." The second example of his intelligence was from the movie, "The Odyssey". When they encountered the Cyclops, he came up with a quick plan to escape the cave with the Cyclops. Although, they got trapped in the cave, he quickly thinks on his feet and blinds the Cyclops, tricking it into not seeing where it is going and to open the cave.
