The Great Hero AG Most people believe Odysseus was not an admirable because he was arrogant, selfish and dishonest. Odysseus was an admirable character because he is loyal, clever and brave. One way Odysseus was admirable was because he was loyal. Odysseus shows his loyalty towards his men when they encounter the Lotus Eaters.
The Unstoppable Odysseus Odysseus and his men had came upon an island where they stayed and feasted on wine and wild goats for three days. After the third day Odysseus and his men stormed the main island where the Cyclopes lived. The Cyclopes did not live by rules or had any sense of hospitality; they aren 't god fearing men. Cyclopes lived off the land, farming and they had their herd of sheep that they took extremely well care of. They were huge, bigger than any men they were creatures to big to be any man.
Odysseus’s adventures were long, brutal and tested his weaknesses. I'm going to analyze how these weaknesses kept him from returning home. Because of these weaknesses odysseus’s son grew up without a father in his life, who knows if he even had a father figure in his life at the very least He survived many situations against all odds and was reunited with his wife and son after 20 long years. Odysseus likes women that are not his wife, and he gets sucked into the goddess Circe’s “vortex” so to speak, his crew warned him it was a trap to keep them there but he didn't listen and they stayed there for a year eating and drinking as much as they could possibly want.
In part one of Homer’s Odyssey, Odysseus uses his epic hero qualities to help him out on his quest to get back home to Ithaca. In the Odyssey, the hero Odysseus first shows restraint when on the Land of Helios, Odysseus tells his men not to touch the cattle. They then ran out of food which made his men and him very hungry. Odysseus’s men were unsupervised and the cattle were just wandering around. His men then decided they were so hungry that they had to eat the cattle.

There are many lessons Odysseus and is men learn on their journey home in the Odyssey. Unfortunately, only Odysseus makes it home and the rest of men are dead because of their foolish actions.
