In life there are some people who succeed and some people don’t. The people who succeed are known to people that we admire, we get inspired by, and hope to be like them. Oprah Winfrey is somebody that I truly admire because she has brought true greatness to the world and she has been a role model to many in numerous ways. Oprah Winfrey is probably one of the most famous ladies and honestly she has every way to rejoice about it. Oprah was able to reach the top of the popularity list by reaching out to people. On January 29th, 1954, Oprah was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi to a family that didn’t have a whole lot of money. When Oprah was in her childhood years, it was being torn apart because multiple sexual abuse. After hosting that show, Oprah was influenced and when she was able to host her own show she did. The Oprah Winfrey Show was launched in 1986 and ended until 2009 on the ABC network. However, Oprah started the Oprah Winfrey Network, which was also called the OWN network. In 1998, the Times Magazine made a survey about who are the most influential people in the Unites States of America, and Oprah Winfrey was chosen by the magazine as one of the 100 Most Influential People of the 20th century. Also, Oprah contributed to the community by staring her own book club. Oprah’s book club offers reading guides for each book selection, so it has quickly become the largest book club in the world.
