What were the circumstances surrounding the death of Osama Bin Laden?
Osama Bin Laden was a dangerous terrorist who planned the attacks on 911. He was the most wanted person in the world, the search for him lasted many, many years. The United States Government had to keep the operation to kill him very quiet. The operation was very precise and exact, if it was not, then he might have gotten away again.

- Bin Laden's body is identified by one of his wives. Facial recognition is used also. The raid started at 1 am local time. They planned the raid on a moonless night thinking ahead of time so it would be dark. The ISI also cut off the electricity so it was very dark. During the raid, 79 American commandos in 4 helicopters descended on the compound. One helicopter out of the four, crash-landed into the compound but no one was hurt. American troops rushed to finish their mission trying to avoid a confrontation. The seals said right when they reached the compound, they were being fired at by Bin Laden’s trusted courier. The raid ended up lasting 40 minutes. 5 people were killed. After 911, the United States Government tried to find Osama Bin Laden but it seemed as if he had disappeared. Bush said that Laden was not important because he was frustrated that he could not find him. The search never ended for him though. He planned the 911 attacks which killed or injured tons of people. It was a huge win for the United States to find him. Everyone had been scared because he was not dead yet and he could have done something even worse than the 911 attacks.
