Final Semester (A Discussion of My Favorite Five Texts) This final, concluding semester to my freshman year has seen a vast number of studied texts. However, there were five that truly stood out to me throughout this last semester. To begin with, Othello is freshly burned in my mind with the incredible tragedy of deceit. As my mother was an english major, she talks of multiple Shakespeare plays that I recognize the name, yet haven’t gotten the chance to read or watch. This story, in addition to Romeo and Juliet, as well as A Midsummer Night’s Dream gave me a larger grasp of Shakespeare playwriting. This story demonstrated perhaps the most cunning and truly villainous character, Iago. This was a far more depressing tragedy compared to the idiotic choices of two teenagers. It was incredibly moving to see the agony that Othello endures through the lies of Iago. Secondly, I did rather enjoy the movie demonstration of Fahrenheit 451. I will admit that despite reading the original story, much of the story seemed very unclear to me and was slightly agonizing to trudge through. Despite being vastly different from the original book, and only being present to see the last half of the video, I found it intriguing to see a unique interpretation on the classic story. Although, a vast majority of how events took place in the story were incredibly different while visualized inside my head reading the book, I enjoyed the special effects. I found the method in which memories were transferred into the mind of The Receiver very well executed as far as cinematography goes. The memories were smoothly linked as they flew by, yet still gave the viewer enough time to truly connect or feel the emotions of the memory. It was very well composed, in my
