Abortion is a legal way to say killing a baby is okay. Women have abortions everyday, so much that there are approximately forty two million abortions done per year. (www.abortionno.org) Within this essay, we will explore a baby’s development durning the pregnancy, the methods of abortions, laws on abortions, statistics on abortions, and opinions on abortions. Pregnancy can be such a beautiful thing for some women, for others it can be so destructive to their lives. When thinking about a little bundle of joy developing with in you, it should make you feel so warm and fuzzy inside. Some women don't share the same pleasure with a pregnancy. A website called baby centre gives an inside look week by week of how a baby develops. The first three months of a pregnancy is known as a trimester. For the first month women may not even know that they are pregnant. The 1st week of a pregnancy is generally the woman's menstrual period. A woman doesn't conceive until around the 3rd week. First is the “Hysterotomy”, this is a procedure which is similar to a Caesarean section with the opening of the abdomen, but instead of exacting the baby then cutting the umbilical cord, it is done the other way around. The umbilical cord is cut while the baby is still inside the womb and the baby will die from suffocation. If the baby is born alive then, it will be life to die from neglect. The other method is called “Partial Birth”. This method involves going through labor but only delivering half of the baby’s body. The doctor will go in and pull the baby out legs first and leaving the head inside of the birth canal. Next scissors are inserted into the baby's skull and opened. A suction device is then inserted into the hole created by the scissors. This device will suck out the baby's brains ultimately killing the baby. Then the baby is fully delivered.
