A hero, according to the Merriam-Webster online dictionary is “a man admired for his achievements and noble qualities”, or “one who shows courage”. Write an essay explaining why you believe each of the Greasers - Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dally - could be considered a hero. He saved Ponyboy when the socs jumped him. Johnny killed Bob and all the other socs ran off. If it wasn’t for him Ponyboy might of drowned. He also save the kids in Windrixville. Johnny took very bad injuries and ended up dying just to save those kids because he thought they mattered more than he did. Dally showed being a hero when he hit Ponyboy when he was on fire in Windrixville. If it wasn’t for Dally, Ponyboy might’ve died for the second time. Dally didn’t hurt Ponyboy he just hit him hard enough to where the fire on Ponyboy’s back went out. Dally didn’t want to be a hero. Dally just did that to save the life of someone he cared about. These things fit my definition of being a hero. They all showed being a hero. Heck Johnny had two heroic moments. If Dally had a heroic moment than you know for a fact that both Ponyboy and Johnny both had at least one heroic moment. These things fit my definition of a hero because they all show good deeds and they’re helping people in
