The moral and ethical value most people carry around them is constantly changing system that has improved over centuries. The values that we have today are incomparable to the morals of hundreds of years ago, yes the morals we have today are the children of the adversities that were overcome. Although, even in today's society we are still improving and acknowledging these mistakes, we have grown substantially.. Buck, a dog with ignorant ownership, is on his final steps from lack of food, water, sleep, and the frequent abusion of a club. With Buck’s hope and will withering away, one man interrupts his beating to end his adversity. “If you strike that dog again, I’ll kill you.” In this more hostile environment words like that were not taken lightly; Thornton, the voice, is not afraid to speak out against the malicious owner, Thornton’s voice against Buck’s adversity is powerful, not only is he fearless, but he demands immediate change. “Thornton stood between him and Buck and evinced no intention of getting out of the way. Thornton easily could have avoided the situation altogether, but he saw a problem and knew he had to speak, his voice made all the difference for Buck.
