Owner Interview Report

Before this assignment, I was concerned about which type of ownership should I pursue, and which type of owners should I set appointment with. I wanted to choose something that I can do and succeed in. Therefore, I wrote different options in a piece of paper and started to think about the advantages and disadvantages of each option. My question was which type is fit for me? In the beginning I wanted to own an independent pharmacy, but I found this option is not realistic for me, at least in the meantime. After deep thinking, I realized that providing a pharmacy service will be better option for me. Hence, I started to think about providing medication management services to my community. Actually, this option would be more realistic for me, and something that I can do. Therefore, I decided to interview a business owner of MTM services. Fortunately, Dr. Rebecca Wise, the assistant professor of pharmacy practice, in LECOM School of Pharmacy has her own business of providing MTM services. After deep thinking, I chose providing MTM services to my community. This service will suit my personality in addition to do something that I love to do. Therefore, I sat an appointment with Dr. Rebecca Wise; a business owner of MTM services and assistant professor at LECOM School of Pharmacy. It was very beneficial interview for me, because she highlighted important points to know before I start. She spoke about opening the business, performing daily duties, being my own boss, feeling satisfied to achieve my goals, and shaping the future of my business. At the end of the interview, Dr. Wise concluded that her advice for me is to get a good mentor and shadow a lot before I start my own business. Then, I thanked Dr. Wise for her time, it was grateful
