Crenshanda Williams, a Houston Texas police phone operator is being charged for allegedly hanging up on multiple emergency calls. She was caught saying "Ain 't nobody got time for this. For real," after she hung up on one of the calls. She told police that the reason on why she hung up on those calls was due to her not wanting to talk to anyone at that time.
Kyam Livingston was a 37 year old mother of two, from Brooklyn, New York who died under police custody in July of this year. During an escalated argument with her elderly grandmother, over alcoholic consumption police were called to the scene. Prior to this altercation, Livingston had made an agreement with her grandmother, a legalized order of protection that was established prohibiting alcohol or fighting in the household. Phillis was small, frail, nearly naked, and could not speak a word of English when she arrived in America.

Introduction Locura is a culture bound syndrome that affects Latin Americans and Hispanics, regardless of where they are born, in the United States or South America (Jilek 2001:5,9). Locura has also been documented in immigrants from the Caribbean Islands (Razzouk 2011:517). In Columbia, Locura is also known as “ataques de locura” madness attacks, it is attributed to a spell known as “maleficio”. Locura is commonly associated with other culture bound syndromes thru out Central and South America, such as ataques de nervious (nervios) and possession syndromes (Piñeros 1998:1425).
