What is the impact humans are having on the deforestation of the panda habitat? What if the earth shrunk down 5x smaller but , the population stayed the same! What would we do about food and water, Would there be enough.That 's what happened to the Panda Bears home and humans caused it! Imagine a green forest with tall trees and large bamboo.Towering over your head, the sun shining thru the top of the canopy. Imagine that with giant pandas to. Climbing on trees, playing with there cubs. Or maybe no pandas at all. Also barely any bamboo plants or trees. This is what the forest could look like because pandas are on the endangered species list. Due to the deforestation is causing panda bear population to shrink. The panda bear population use to be huge but now is shrinking. now and then are very different. The giant panda was once widespread throughout southern and eastern China, as well as neighbouring Myanmar and northern Vietnam but due to expanding human populations and development, the species is now restricted to around 20 isolated patches of bamboo. A panda 's average life span in the wild is 14-20 years. It used to be just 20, but not anymore. The latest census in 2014 found that there were 1,864 giant pandas alive in the wild. Panda 's main food source is bamboo. This stumps scientists since bamboo is not high in nutrients and is not easily digested by the bear. That means that the panda has to eat an awful lot of it to get the nutrition it needs to live. Pandas will eat 50 – 60 pounds of bamboo a day.
