Pandora is Blameless
Throughout society and religion, there is a pattern of men bringing down women to elevate themselves. Within Greek Mythology, there are many heroes and villains while the myth of Pandora portrays Pandora as a villain to all humanity. In this myth, it tells us of gifts that were given to Pandora from the gods and goddesses by Pandora opening the jar/box causing all the ills of humanity, she is meant to be seen as the one to blame for everything wrong with the world. Pandora did open the jar/box, but she shouldn’t be blamed for it, they made Pandora the scapegoat “a person or group made to bear the blame for others or to suffer in their place”. Pandora should not be held responsible for the consequences of her actions.

She was created as a punishment for Prometheus and as a gift to Epimetheus, Pandora was given a box that she was instructed not to open. However Zeus gifted Pandora the “gift” of curiosity, whether it is a gift or not it is open for interpretation, but in this situation, it is not. Pandora’s curiosity over the box she was given increased as time passed, and she even started to hear voices coming from the box. Even though it was Epimetheus’ responsibility to keep the box safe from everyone and not allow anyone to open it yet he keeps it available and open to steal; there are many solutions to not letting anyone near or find the box but he doesn’t use any of them. Epimetheus had one job: Protect the jar/box which he failed, but he does not get the blame for it all the blame is put on Pandora. Epimetheus even had warnings not to take either of the gifts “Prometheus warned his brother not to accept any gift from Zeus but Epimetheus was too swept away by the beauty of Pandora to heed the warning”. Some say that Pandora should’ve just utilized some self-control leaving the box alone. While it's hard to do doesn’t mean it is impossible, by applying self-control there wouldn't have been consequences to all humanity for example disease, old age, poverty, evil, war, hatred, and other ills of the world (“Pandora”). But Pandora probably shouldn’t have been around the box at all with the gifts she was
