Nat “Sweetwater” Clifton and Earl Lloyd were the first African Americans to be over Drafted in the second round by the Boston Celtics. Beforehand there were African American Teams, in the 1904 they were called black fives. They were branches outside of the YMCA, During the black fives era the teams emerged out of the cities: New York, Washington, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Cleveland. The teams were affiliated with churches, social clubs and newspapers.

Today they say that the confederate flag stands for heritage and pride while the non-confederates say it stands for slavery. These people only think that it stands for slavery because of the twisted history of the flag. Researchers say that the flag isn't a sign of slavery but they have their own opinions and beliefs. They also say that it is just a symbol of the southern states history.

The Idea of a Ram came from the North Carolina fullback Jack Merritts nickname, the “Battering Ram.” Rameses is a very entertaining mascot and impacts the community in a very positive way. Therefore, The University of North Carolina mascot should be introduced into the Mascot Hall of Fame.
In december of 1860 South Carolina was the first state to secede from the union. They were the first state to use the Confederate flag. Ten other states would join South Carolina in seceding from the Union. The “Rebel Flag” which we see today is what is considered to be the Confederate flag. It is also called the “Stars and Bars Flag.”
During the civil war, the confederate flag was used to symbolize the southern states attempting to secede from the Union. But to some, it symbolizes slavery, racism, hate and also, southern pride. Fast forward 200 years, and the flag is still to this day, being flown in the deep south. Should It be accepted to fly the flag of former enemies of the United States? President Obama says that it’s not.

Huey Newton’s Black Panther Party and the Black Lives Matter movement share similar goals, but are different in ways they set out to achieve those goals. The Black Panthers party's presence got so threatened that the FBI labeled the group ‘Public Enemy Number One,’ while in today’s Black Lives Matter movement are labeled as a terrorist group although there are little to no similarities or validity to the claim. While sharing similarities between the two groups, both were different in their movement’s goals, beliefs, and actions that they took. Huey Newton and Bobby Seale created the Black Panthers party in Oakland while Newton was just 24 years (Haiphong). The Black Panthers major goals were to demand the racial equality for the civil rights groups in their education, employment, an end to police brutality,and improved housing (Weise).
