William George Bonin was born on January 8, 1947 in Connecticut. He was the middle child of two other siblings. Bonin was placed in an orphanage at the age of 6 and when he was 9 he was adopted. He was arrested at the age of 10 for stealing license plates and other minor crimes, he was then placed in a juvenile detention center. In his teens, when he went back home to his mother, he started to molest younger children. He joined the U.S. Air Force and engaged to marry in 1965 when he turned 18 years old. He served in the Vietnam war. He was a gunner and showed off his bravery by going and saving another soldier while being fired at by an enemy. But Bonin admitted to sexually assaulting two fellow soldiers at gunpoint. He was then discharged from the Air Force. His body was discovered on May 28, 1979, the same day he went missing. An autopsy revealed that Lundgren suffered emasculation and bludgeoning to the face and to the head. He also had been slashed across the throat, stabbed, and strangled to death. bonin is to believed to been assisted by Vernon Butts, who is suspected to have accompanying bonin on eight further murders.
