Dennis Rader is a horrific serial killer with the nickname of BTK (bind, torture, and kill) he was born in Kanas in 1945. Rader is the oldest of four sons. Rader seemed to live a very normal and bland childhood. Yet he was known to strangle and hang cats. Rader joined the United States Air Force and served through the mid 1960s.
Dennis Rader was another despicable character, killing 10 known victims. His method of killing earned him quite a memorable nickname, “The BTK Killer”. BTK stands for bind, torture and kill. Much like Kemper, he also sent letters to the police. However, his letters were much more cohesive, listing details of the murder.
In 1969, Donald would commit his second murder in Pawley’s Island. He picked up a women hitchhiker named Angie and shortly after raped her and when he was finished he stabbed her with a knife and then dumped her body into a river (Kirby, Wolford, and Hayward, pg. 6). Gaskins would go on to kill thirteen people between 1969 and 1975. His murders would include seven women, five men, and a two-year-old girl. He committed his final murder in 1982, when he was paid to assassinate a fellow inmate on death row (Capps, pg.1).
February 29th, 2016, Jeffrey Bernard May was charged with four counts of sexual assault on a victim below the age of 12 and two counts of lewd and lascivious behavior. May married Erica’s mother, Lynn May, in October of 2000 and filed for divorce in 2015.
Ronald Gene Simmons began a killing spree on December 22, 1987 that culminated in the worst mass murder occurrence in Arkansas history six days later. He killed sixteen people during this short period of time; fourteen of his victims were members of his own family. Ronald was born forty seven years earlier on July, 15, 1940 in the city of Chicago. His father, William Simmons, died of a stroke before Ronald’s second birthday. Simmons’s mother remarried within a year of his father’s untimely passing.

He’s the oldest of four sons, and seemed to enjoy a pretty normal childhood. As a child, Rader did activities that most children at that age would never do.
As Dennis evolved into the BTK killer, he starts to develop his M.O. and signature attributes during his crimes. Learning from the Otero murderers, he began carrying his “hit kit” which included a various of restraints, gloves, guns, knives, entry tools, a flashlight, a camera, a mask and a change of clothes. One he picked his target, he would stalk them until he was comfortable enough to execute his plan. In three of BTK’s crimes, he entered through the back door after cutting the phone cord connection located outside the homes.

In 1976, David Richard Berkowitz began a series of shootings, giving him the nickname, "The .44 Caliber Killer" after the weapon he used in his crimes. The serial killer wrote letters taunting the police and to explain his reasoning behind his morbid crimes, which in the letters he named himself, “Son of Sam,” he also called himself at the end of a letter Mr. Monster. Berkowitz killed many people and wounded several more, he wrote letters to the police promising more murders, and finally was captured on unusual suspicion and sentenced to prison for the rest of his life. Berkowitz had a rough childhood. His biological mother was Jewish with his biological father being Catholic.
The very first murder he was linked to would have been the first one he would of committed. This murder took place in Santa Barbara on June 4th, 1963. The young victims were couple Robert Domingos and his betrothed Linda Edwards. The couple had decided to participate in their senior ditch day, so they went sunbathing at a beach near Gaviota State Park. When they didn’t return by the next morning, Robert’s father went looking for them.
He was quiet and shy. His familial situation was a big contributor to his psychosis. In 1946 he began stalking and abducting victims in Plainfield. The first believed to be Victor Travis, the only man known to be killed by Ed Gein. Next was Evelyn Hartley, 15, her body was never found.
