As Dennis evolved into the BTK killer, he starts to develop his M.O. and signature attributes during his crimes. Criminal versatility is another trait of psychopathy that’s show a competency with different type of criminal activities (Turvey, 2011). Learning from the Otero murderers, he began carrying his “hit kit” which included a various of restraints, gloves, guns, knives, entry tools, a flashlight, a camera, a mask and a change of clothes. One he picked his target, he would stalk them until he was comfortable enough to execute his plan. This would be known as one of BTK’s signatures, a personalized or unique act that goes beyond the action needed to commit the crime. It is stated that some criminals used strangulation to bring their victims in and out of consciousness to stimulate sexual gratification (Turvey, 2011). It is the ultimate position of power and control over life and death and this notion is what drove BTK dark fantasies. The overall appearance of a woman being restrained and tortured was his only motivation to commit these heinous acts. After their deaths, he would masturbate near their bodies. In addition, he would take and wear some of his victims’ underwear which was another sexual fetish of Dennis. Once he committed his crimes, he would execute his precautionary actions, which are behaviors conducted by an offender before, during, or after a crime which is intended to hinder investigative or forensic efforts (Turvey,
