As Dennis evolved into the BTK killer, he starts to develop his M.O. and signature attributes during his crimes. Criminal versatility is another trait of psychopathy that’s show a competency with different type of criminal activities (Turvey, 2011). Learning from the Otero murderers, he began carrying his “hit kit” which included a various of restraints, gloves, guns, knives, entry tools, a flashlight, a camera, a mask and a change of clothes. One he picked his target, he would stalk them until he was comfortable enough to execute his plan. This would be known as one of BTK’s signatures, a personalized or unique act that goes beyond the action needed to commit the crime.
