Mind boggling statements from your sheet:
“God approved of or authorized infant-killing, slavery, genocide and the stoning to death of new brides who turn out not to be virgins on their wedding night.”
That statement boggles my mind for several reasons. The first one is that some Christians are able to look past the Bible authorizing or approving horrific acts like those, but are unable to look past it stating that same-sex marriage or premarital sex is wrong. It boggles my mind that people just pick and choose which parts of the religion they want to follow. The second reason this boggles my mind is that God is supposed to be a benevolent and compassionate deity, yet he authorizes heinous actions, like those stated above. As well as, if you look at two, truly parallel lines it gives the appearance that they will never intersect one another. But, to paraphrase what a wise man once told his class, “Not everything you learn in high school is correct.” I guess this is just one of those examples.
