The beautiful story of Romeo and Juliet depicts many different kinds of love. One of the loves that has a big impact on the plot is parental love. For example, the affection the nurse has for her little Juliet. Another love shown in the story is the love of family honor. For example, there is the issue of Romeo liking Juliet because he is attracted to her, even though he knows his last name gets in the way. One of the loves is for parents to protect and do their best for their children. Another love is loyalty to the surname. One of the first loves introduced into the story of Romeo and Juliet was parental love. Parental love is shown when the parent figure worries and cares for the child. A love of family honor is shown when a character does something within their respective family that is influenced by family lineage or loyalty to the family. He believes that Romeo should be killed for "and honor", and because he comes from a hostile family, he believes that "it is not a sin to kill him." It's on pages 139-141 when he succumbed to anger and "threw his sword into the home" killing Tybalt. Romeo killed Tybalt because Tybalt killed Mercutio. As I referenced in the earlier paragraphs both the loves are protecting a different thing. For example, for Parental Love, on page 53, it states, “Nurse- If I could just see you married, I’d have my wish.” The Nurse wants Juliet to have a happy life by getting married to someone because at that time being married was extremely good for women. An example for Love of family Honor, on page 75, it states, “Romeo- Is she a Capulet? (His face falls) That’s bad news! Now I’m pledged to my enemy.” Concerning Romeo being a Montague, he is unable to have an open relationship with Juliet because they are from enemy families.
