My 9th year I had the chance to get back into the cattle barn by showing a Maintainer heifer with my first year back and being awarded grand champion mainetainer heifer was beyond the greatest experience ever! However, in my years I’ve attend two camps one was at Tecumseh and the other was at Purdue University. Both those camps allowed myself to make new friends and learn to skills. Being a member of 4-H has driven me to my college major of Animal Science and Nutrition with all the livestock and research that has been done with all my projects. I plan to finish my career with making memories and more friends.

Why I major in Veterinarian Technology Some people go to college knowing exactly what they want, others do not have a clue. On the average students change their majors three or more times before they graduate. Since I am in undecided person, selecting a major was a difficult decision to make. Before I attended college as a freshman, I wanted to figure out which career fits me the most and would give me passion every day. Most of my life I have loved and cared for different kind of animals, as well as devoting myself wholeheartedly to their well-being.
The Iowa Farm Bureau mission is to create a vibrant future of agriculture, along with farm families, and their communities. My field of study will help support this mission of the Iowa Farm Bureau by defining agriculture’s brand to the masses. I am attending Iowa State University in the fall to major in Ag Communications and minor in marketing and sales. I hope to maintain a 3.5 or higher GPA, join clubs and organizations on and off of campus, and to expose myself to new people and things. In the fall I will also be rushing, and joining a sorority.
Diversity in individuals is integral in an educational setting in ways that are not always directly visible or perceivable to others around them. These individuals bring experiences, outlooks, talents, and skills that allow for a more enriched and dynamic learning environment and I believe that I can contribute greatly with my own experiences to this shared learning environment. Growing up I was always around animals and because of this my love for animals was fostered on from an early age. Both of my parents are veterinarians, and like many children, my source of inspiration, but because of this it can be difficult to say how much of their influence attributes to my decision to pursue a career in the field of veterinary medicine. Regardless
I finally received the support that I needed to do well in school. I attended class every day and consequently, my grades improved. In middle school, I was a student in the Pre-Medical Science Program. In high school, I in the Equine Pre-Veterinary Academy. I enrolled in AP, AICE, and dual-enrollment courses.
Honestly, I have never planned on going to college in my life. When I get out of school I have a business waiting on me. My father’s occupation is a cowboy, he works cows in all four states (Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma) and even out of the four states sometimes. I’ve been working cows with my dad since I was 4 years old. It is an occupation I am very educated in.
There are many opportunities when it comes to being a veterinarian. Although, it is a long process career. Working with animals and identifying the way they act, their behavior, and their characteristics is something very interesting. Not only is it important to learn about animals but to help them in any way. One of the facts about the admissions are “Admissions decisions depend in large parts upon students identifying faculty members with funding.”
I’m looking forward to extend my love for animals to help others with their animal medical needs. My career choice of becoming a Veterinary Technician is to promote good animal health. I want to work in a career which makes me fulfilled professionally and also where there is an opportunity for advancement. This profession will give me the opportunity to provide services to the community. I understand the deep feelings that pet owners have for their pets, therefore I want to do my best to provide good medical care for their pets and help
Although I going to strive to become an Equine dentist, sometimes things get in the way of life and you need to re-route yourself. If life just so happens to get in my way and interfere with me becoming an Equine dentist i have two backup careers. My first one is being a Horse breeder, and my second one is being a Vet tech. I chose theses two careers as my backup plan because most of the college prerequisites and other course work are the same, and because it still has my passion in it, animals. The first career I am going to talk about is Vet tech.
Ultimately, treating animals with respect and integrity. I also value excellence as I complete research studies, prepare for exams, and hold leadership positions. As a dedicated student who is not afraid of a challenge, I have taken tremendous course loads, above the maximum, to fulfill my desire to learn. Balancing my workload was occasionally difficult but I was kept grounded by my desire for academic

All the time I hear people say they want to be a veterinarian! “OSU is ranked one of the best veterinarian colleges in the world.” (Oklahoma State University Information). “OSU’s livestock judging team was Reserve at the National Western Stock Show in 2014.”
But before all that good fun stuff, you start from the bottom which would be feeding, cleaning, grooming and soon enough make your way to the top with riding, training, and dressage. But no need to worry like I’ve said before you don’t need a college diploma/degree. You can learn by what’s called on-the-job training you’ll start off like an equine/apprenticeship from the bottom and work your way to the top. But one thing for sure your salary won’t be as high as those who do show proof of an diploma/degree, from those who don’t show any proof of any such college
Ever since grade school, I was passionate about working in the field of medicine, and science. I enjoyed anatomy, medical spelling and terminology, and reading about the healthcare industry. Because of my passion for healthcare, I decided to to attend Health Sciences High. There, I was given the best opportunities, such as, medical internships and college health courses. My plans and goals had turned me into a mature young adult.
Having the opportunity to attend Colorado State University, a school that has one of the best veterinary programs, is dream come true in its self, one that has paved a path for me to follow for my long-term goals. Enrolling in vet school is one of the hardest studies, but being a veterinarian has many benefits that offer many impacts to the professional field. My hope is that I will leave a legacy to the veterinary field by running a practice that is successful and passionate about the care of animals. To leave an impact, many innovations will be created throughout my career as a veterinarian, and contribute to the success of the profession
