Paul rand born on August 15, 1914 and was an American Graphic designer. He was amongst the most influential and remarkable graphic designers through out the ages. His work is regarded as excellent and continues to influence the field of design even today. He was the visionary who showed the world that design matters. Paul Rand’s Eye-bee-m poster was iconic for many reasons and has had a long lasting impact on design and this paper will attempt to show the significance of this poster as well the visual style of the designer Paul Rand.

The mid-century modern period was dominated by American innovations. Inspired by European avant-garde early modern approaches, American designers developed a unique style and several influential designers emerged. Paul rand was a pioneering figure in American design. He adopted techniques and styles from cubism, constructivism and De Stijl all truly revolutionary styles of modern art and synthesized them to produce his own creative graphic design solutions. Which further inspired him to create some of the most notable designs through out graphic design history.

The current IBM logo is eminent all over the world because of its simplicity. The logo was designed to represent the company’s vision and quality of products made.
