Tn 4351 was originally isolated from bacteroides fragilis [30] . The transposon was successfully introduced into Cytophaga succinicans, Flavobacterium meningosepticum, Flexibacter canadiansis, Flexibacter strain SFI and Sporocytophaga myxococcoides by conjugation [25]. Tn 4351carries two antibiotic resistance gene. One of the codes for resistance to erythromycin and clindamycin which is expressed in bactroides but not in E.Coli. The other gene codes for resistance in tetracycline and is expressed in aerobically grpwn E. coli, but not in anaerobically grpwn E. coli or in bacteroides.
The investigation was carried out to identify the presence or absence of biological molecules in serum 2216. Piglet 10 was put into a box at the beginning of the experiment, and was not revealed until the end of it. Each piglet was in its own condition. Piglet 0 was naked in a box, Piglet 1 was naked on the grass, piglet 2 had 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree burn all over its body, it too was laying on the grass, piglet 3 was stabbed behind right shoulder, also lying on the grass, piglet 4 had a .380 bullet would on its side, it was laying on the grass, piglet 5 was clothed on the grass, piglet 6 was naked piglet on the black top, piglet 7 was clothed on the black top, piglet 8 was suspended in the air with clothes on, and piglet 9 was suspended in the air naked. The data observed and recorded in this lab shows that the concentration of miracle gro’ does affect the growth rate and germination speed of black eyed peas. The data is shown through two graphs and two data tables. The control group in this experiment is the seeds with a 0% concentration of miracle gro’, therefore the seeds with just water. The experimental groups are different concentrations of miracle gro’ including a 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, and 30% concentration. The variable in this experiment is the amount/concentration of miracle gro’.
Exercise 14: Unknown Identification Lab Report The purpose of the study was to identify the unknown bacterium using various biochemical tests in addition to using scientific methods in determining the outcome of the hypothesis. Each biochemical test will help determine the bacteria based on specific characteristics of each organism. I was giving unknown number 232. The first procedure that needed to be done after obtaining unknown bacterial mixture was to isolate the two bacteria in a pure culture using the streak plate method described in Microbiology Laboratory Manual Eight Edition. The material used was trypticase soy agar (TSA) plate, nutrient plate, starch agar, hydrogen peroxide, iodine reagent and microscope.
On 05/06/17, at 11:43am, I Deputy Warden N. Christian was dispatched to 523 S Wayne Ave on a dog on dog or cat attack, no known owner. I arrived at the location and was met by Columbus Division of Police (CPD) and complainant Raquel Fuentes. I asked what happened; Ms. Fuentes stated that she was taken part in a community event by assisting with neighborhood clean-up with her dog (small white terrier) when a brown/white Pit Bull came out of nowhere and proceeded to attack her dog. With the assistance of passerby they were able to get the brown/white Pit Bull away from Ms. Fuentes dog.

During this experiment, mitochondria were isolated from 20.2 grams of cauliflower using extraction buffer, filtration through Miracloth, and centrifusion. Twelve samples containing various volumes of mitochondrial suspension, assay buffer, DCIP, sodium azide, and citric acid cycle intermediates were prepared to be read by a spectrophotometer. The inclusion of the dye DCIP allowed for the absorbance of the reactions between the mitochondrial suspension and the TCA cycle intermediates succinate, malonate, and oxalate to be measured, as DCIP turns from blue to colorless as the activity of succinate dehydrogenase increases. Experimental Findings Increasing the number of mitochondria in the reaction did increase the reduction of DCIP relative to the amount of mitochondrial suspension present.
Introduction: Dissections are performed on preserved animals donated specifically for science education in order to provide a hands-on experience to observe and study anatomy of an animal in three dimension, unlike a textbook, and how the organ systems are interconnected. In this particular dissection a fetal pig was used because the organs present in a pig, and their position in the body are similar to those of humans which provides insight on how human organs systems work overall and why they are essential to life. The purpose of our experiment was to focus on the external, digestive, cardiovascular, respiratory, and excretory systems of the fetal pig to understand how theses system work together in order to sustain life. In the article, “South Paw” by Judith Viorst, Richard cares the most about saving the friendship from reasons and evidence throughout the text. For example Janet, doesn’t give up and she keeps going on until she gets what she wants. Richard finally gives in at the last part and starts to be friends again and he lets her have what she wants. Richard obviously wants to save the friendship between Janet and him. In the text it states in the last letter, “ At least you could call you goldfish Richard again.”

If I had a chance to do any of these experiments again, I would choose to go more into depth for the dampness experiment. I would hold the experiment for a longer time period so that I can prove that if the mealworms were allowed to remain on the damp surface for excessive amount of time, the amount of dampness would become harmful to the mealworms as their bodies might start to rot and get infected. If I were to do the food experiment again, I would worms in the soil before putting the food into the container. I would do this because when I gave the worms a thin slice of apple (not part of experiment), they all came up to the surface of the soil to eat the apple. I could tell that the worms ate the apple because on the next day, only the skin
PURPOSE The goal of this lab was to build a mousetrap powered car. The mousetrap car needed to travel fifteen feet. The purpose of building these mousetrap cars was to demonstrate our knowledge of motion, friction, force, distance, and energy. We have studied these concepts, and each one is a factor in the success of a mousetrap car.

The purpose of this lab was to change pennies from copper to silver to gold, like alchemists have attempted to do in history. Through the data and observations gathered throughout this experiment, it can be concluded that the pennies were not changed into a different element. For example, the density of the penny from 2005; which was the penny that was experimented on to see whether or not it could turn into silver; was 4.62 g/cm3 before the experiment and 4.89 g/cm3 by the end of the experiment. If this copper penny really would have turned into silver, then the density of the penny would be 10.49 g/cm3; which is the density of silver; by the end of the experiment. The penny may have turned silver in color, but this was only because it was plated in the zinc that was added to the beaker of water in the experiment.
