Sex has a major impact on everyday lives. We are constantly seeing it in movies and television, hearing about it in passing in the school hallways, and viewing posts about it on social media. For the modern generation, oral sex is not a big deal. Most teenagers believe that oral sex is much safer because they cannot before pregnant or end up with a sexually transmitted disease or infection. By age eighteen, two thirds of teenagers have had oral sex. Seventy percent of teens believe that oral sex is not sex. Some girls interviewed in this book even admitted to having/giving oral sex simply because they felt in control. Guys would beg girls for it, so they would give in because they knew that they were able to have that power over guys. Oftentimes girls did not want to be having oral sex because of the actual pleasure involved with it, but rather because they liked to know that they were wanted and needed by a boy. One point held strong throughout this whole book - girls are sexualized much more than boys are. I cannot tell you how many times I have see a little penis drawn onto a school wall, desk, or locker. Boys joke around about their genitalia frequently. As for girls, I cannot recall a single time when I saw a girl sketch a vagina onto a desk, or make some slick comment about her genitalia.
