Pete Rose: The Fall of a Star Athlete Often referred to by his nickname, “Charlie Hustle,” Pete Rose was one of the greatest players in the history of the Major League Baseball Association. Throughout his professional career, Rose played for the Cincinnati Reds, the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Montreal Expos as a stellar athlete. Clearly the text can't be referred to as the best piece because of its degree constraint being a sporting topic pondered an economic plan, which is tied with individual hobbies. However, Franklin Foer should be credited towards the hard work he did to prove his points. Foer’s main idea in the novel is that soccer is an essential piece in making the world the way it is today. The main point of novel that Foer is trying to convey is that soccer is a metaphor for globalization.
In addition, the main characters are both very similar, from characteristics to actions. The two tales that were told both have main characters Ivy from The village and Equality from Anthem. The two of them have determination, because they both do what must be done no matter what they have to go through. Ivy, struggled with a disability of being bling, but she knew that there was more to her world than what was just there. So, Ivy does what no one in her village has done, and goes into the woods to try to find a cure for Lucious(Ivy’s significant other).
One similarity is that Mrs. Hutchinson stands up for what she believes in, just like Harrison in the story, "Harrison Bergeron". Both the characters actually stand up for something they believe in front of everybody, which takes some major courage. Plus, all the people in the story, with the exception of Mrs. Hutchinson and Harrison Bergeron (maybe the ballerina in "Harrison Bergeron") participate in something. This includes them wearing the handicaps for "Harrison Bergeron" and actually stoning a person every year in the story "The Lottery". And lastly, somebody in the story does not believe in the rules.
