People Behind Bars In Prisons

When people talk about jails we hear them refer to prisoners as the people behind bars. There are other people that live much of their life behind these bars and they are the officers that are there to keep prisoners in prison. I work closely with these officers on a regular basis, and I have to say they have the hardest job in law enforcement. For this essay I spoke to the shift sergeant on the night shift to get a better understanding of their job. During this interview we covered a lot of information, including how many prisoners where in the jail, how many correction officers where employed, and what types of crimes the inmates have been charged.
