I’ve learned how to see the world and people around me after reading the novel. People can learn from seeing the changes in Montag when he begins to feel out of place and question the society around him about how books are banned and cannot be allowed to value learning from them. As the novel progresses we see Montag looking through life on a variety of different perspectives and on why he lives in the society he lives in and why people behave the way they behave and starts to find his own path and on how he wants to look at like and try to show others to try to look at things from a different perspective. The novel made me realize that I wanted to have a different mindset and outlook towards life instead of following people around or believing every piece of information a higher person has told me to do or to follow. As I learned about some of the impacts social media has on society and myself I started to realize everyone is battling with the media and were letting it defeat us. Social media is online technology that people use to spread ideas, find information, and to communicate with people around the world. People are glorified with social media because it’s quick and easy to use, faster and efficient way to get work done, or it takes away boredom. People fail to realize how bad social media actually is and is damaging to the human mind. When everyone was quarantined, that’s when social media started to take over more because people around the world were stuck in their homes and that was the main thing to do being stuck at home and not being able to go to school or being at work. I started to feel this overwhelming feeling of lack of motivation and low attention span when returning back to school. I couldn’t pay attention in class for more than 5 mins without picking up my phone to check if I received a text message or going on Tikok. I also realized that I would procrastinate on homework that I should’ve been getting done or simply doing my job at work without the constant looking at my phone.
