Next, in the novel Lord of the Flies by William Golding, Ralph experiences perception of parents when he is trying to control the boys at the start of the novel. In the story, the boys who are stranded on the island together decide to vote Ralph group leader. He decides that the boys need to do things to make sure the island is running smoothly, but the boys would not listen. In the story it states” Ralph was annoyed and, for that moment, defeated.
