“Percy Jackson, The Lightning Thief” is a book by an author named Rick Riordan that was adapted into a movie. In “The Lightning Thief” Percy Jackson is a 12 year old dyslexic boy with ADHD. His parents are his mom(Sally) who is a human, and his dad(Poseidon)who is a god. Percy is blamed for stealing Zeus’ Bolt and is sent on a quest to find who stole it and give it back to Zeus. .In this Essay I am going to be discussing the biggest difference in the book, the movie and which one I prefer the most.
I think the biggest difference in the book is the fact that Ares is a character. The changes that Ares made to the book was that he had a daughter named Clarisse at Camp-Half-Blood which led to Percy getting discovering he has water powers by drenching her in a restroom. Ares also led them to Water World, almost killing them to get his shield back. Lastly Ares also

All three pearls led them to somewhere different like the first pearl got them to medusa which the head was used later in the book. Another pearl led them to a museum threatening monster called Hydra, although this did not effect the book in any way, it still slowed them down. Lastly the The Lotus Casino, where they wasted most of their time trapped in the Lotus Eaters layer for five days, shortening their time. This was how the map acquired by Luke was the biggest difference in the movie. Let’s move on to which one I prefer most.
Out of both of the marvels based on Rick Riordan’s “The Lightning Thief”, I honestly have to go with the book. The reason for this is that the book really takes the time to explain what is introduced like the gods or Ares. Also little parts have a big impact on the story, like percy learning that he has powers from Clarisse. At the end of the day, if the book is amazing I have a pretty good time visualizing the book more than the movie where they show you what
