Perfect pottery is a great company that produces good quality pottery. The company has recently had a few issues with their employees. They replaced 1,600 workers with machines and then the problems started occurring. Staff absenteeism has gone up from 2.1% to 8.2% in just 2 years. That’s a big problem especially if you’re trying to produce many goods and build as a company. The workers are losing off days and the company doesn’t have many people working on some days. Defective items have gone up from 3% to 6% in two years also. That’s double what it was before and the company can’t afford to have that many defective items. Workers also have a poor morale and this might be because they are scared to lose their jobs to the robots. Are they sabotaging company with defective items? Or are they just not wanting to work hard? The company’s autocratic work style has been working for years. Maybe the workers are getting tired of having people in their faces. The tall organizational structure might be an issue for employees. They might have issues that don’t ever get fixed and they could be getting frustrated. …show more content…

Some of them are more important than the others like the Absenteeism quadrupling in just two years. The Defective items shouldn’t even happen yet they have double in two years. This that the employees are creating since the robots don’t make mistakes. The third problem is the poor morale which could be a factor of other issues. The robots replacing jobs might be why the workers have poor morale. The Tall Organizational structure and autocratic leadership style are two issues on the company’s behalf. If the employees don’t like the company style and can’t work with it then they should probably change their style and make the workers
