Personal Career Analysis: Multimedia Artists’
For this career paper I chose to research Multimedia Artists. This specific type of artists’ work on character designs, concept art, visual effects and animating for the Television and Video game fields. The reason I chose to research this field is because I enjoy creating places, characters and animation. After I took the “Kuder Skill Confidence Assessment” I was given the code ACR. Which stands for the traits, Artistic, Conventional and Realist. I found that the first two traits represent me the most. While reading the handbook what interested me the most is being able to create worlds and people, then be able to bring them to life through animation and telling a story. To get a job as a Multimedia Artist you must have “a bachelor’s degree in computer graphics, art, or a related field” also after obtaining said degree you must have a strong portfolio (Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2014). For me to obtain a strong enough portfolio for my degree I must take two classes, Digital media III and Illustration I. In Digital media III I will be “introduced to the workflow of animation, scripting to screen, in a digital environment” (Austin Peay State University, 2015). Also in Illustration I this will allow me to invent “images related to visual communications and illustration techniques” (Austin Peay State University,
