In Frank Romero's painting "Going to the Olympics, 1984" There are cars waiting in traffic, palm trees, hearts above each car, Olympic Stamp, a racing horse, a blimp that says "Good Year" on it, wrestling men, and an iron. The cars in traffic symbolizes that the Olympic is such a big event that year that there were a lot of cars waiting for hours. The Olympic stamp could mean that the Olympics are being hosted. The racing horse and two wrestling men symbolize the Olympic games. The iron symbolizes
The documents given all point towards a specific idea: how the olympics affect the world. The method in which the olympics affects the world differs in the various sources, with some speaking on progress in political relations, some speaking on progress socially, and finally others arguing it affects the world as a place for hostile countries to prove their worth to each other competitively. The documents about political progress are documents 1, 5, 6, and 7. The first, document 1, speaks very specifically on one who believes that the olympics will decrease tension between countries.
In the mural image "Going to the Olympics" by Frank Romero, the author uses Los Angeles city as inspiration to create his art. Romero uses a combination of bright and pastel colors that represent the warm whether of this city. Los Angeles is a city with a wonderful whether that gives people the opportunity to travel around each corner of this city. Also in his mural Romero shows a cartoon-like style to depict five cars driving in a row against a backdrop of palm trees; a valentine heart hovered above each vehicle, which can be considered as symbols. For example I can infer that the cars and the road can represent how travelers people at Los Angeles are, and the hearts can represent the love people have towards the city and their cars.
Premier Sportsman, Inc., is compiled of generations of hunters. Growing up, I was given many opportunities to see what hunting, fishing and nature was all about. Later, as a husband, father and grandfather I discovered what it meant to have that perfect story. That perfect hunt, a guided trip, up in the hills with my buddies, in a drift boat on the Kenai or Columbia River... Creating and capturing memories are what is important to us at a Premier a Sportsman, Inc.
The Olympic games have been around for a long time, and within that time they've shaped into something new. The Games have reformed especially in the aspect of who gets to compete. Firstly, the Olympic games hit some bumps in the road when the many different countries faced nationalism, like the conflict between the countries as a result of wanting to win. Secondly, there were people who wanted the games to return to bring peace, like the organizers of previous games. Also, there were some people who wanted the Olympic for financial reasons.
Sophomore year I was playing at a soccer tournament with my old team. I was playing a great game even though the score was not reflecting my hard work. Towards the end of the game I jumped up caught the ball landed, my body went one way and my legs went the other, then I fell to the ground. Everyone around me had heard a pop, I knew it was my ACL. From this moment in my soccer career I knew I needed to be determined and to be focused on my recovery in order to get back out there.

I ran in my middle school’s track team for two years. I ran the mile, one hundred meter dash and triple jump. Out of all the events I participated in I absolutely despised the mile, I hated the aftermath the most. The feeling of my lungs burning, legs aching from the long run and the heavy asthmatic breathes. Although the mile had several cons, I loved the challenge and I was too stubborn to quit.
There we were, in Houston Texas, Dejah, Aniya, and I were warming up, practicing handoffs in tent city. We had made it to the Houston Texas AAU National Junior Olympics. It was No Limits Track Club’s second to last day on our eight day trip. It was the most competitive day of them all. It was time for the four by one hundred meter relay.
University of the People HIST 1421-01 Greek and Roman Civilization - AY2023-T3 Week 1: Learning Journal Was the Greek religion monotheistic or polytheistic? Almost all of us may have heard about the prominent Greek gods such as Zeus, Poseidon and Athena from a lot of books and films around the world. I was also introduced to Greek gods and mythology from the novel series called Percy Jackson & the Olympians. By simply looking at this information, we can clearly see that the Greek religion was not monotheistic, which means worship of a single god. In fact, they had a tradition of worshipping multiple gods, which is called polytheism.

Baron Pierre de Coubertin, the founder of the modern Olympics, once said, "The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not winning but taking part; the essential thing in life is not conquering but fighting well." The Ancient and Modern Olympics are a turning point in history for many reasons. Back then, the Olympics were an essential part of their culture and brought fame and fortune to its winners. It gave hope to men that were good athletes that were struggling to make ends meet by competing. Participating in the Olympics was a tremendous honor today and back then.
My passion for track and field began with a Nike advertisement. At age ten, I opened the newspaper to a two-page spread of the hometown distance running legend Steve Prefontaine overlaid by a paragraph of inspirational copy. It concluded asking, “Where is the Next Pre?” The story of his small town Oregon roots, gutsy racing style, and ambition to be the best resonated with me like nothing ever had before. I told myself I was the next Pre, and then tore off for my first run through the streets of Eugene, Oregon – “Tracktown USA”.
It can be said that the Olympic and Paralympic games serve as a vehicle for expressing British national and cultural identity. Personally, I agree as well as disagree with this sentiment. I believe that the spirit of the Olympic and Paralympic games are determinant upon the host city of the games. So, in regards to the most recent Olympic and Paralympic games, which took place in London and its surrounding areas, yes, the games served as a vehicle for expressing British national and cultural identity. However, with the upcoming games taking place in Rio de Janeiro the games will not express British national and cultural identity, it will express Brazilian national and cultural identity.
