My ACL Tear Journey At The Hospital A quick turn on a soccer field led me to the worst experience in my life. A while back in my sophomore year I tore my ACL while I was practicing for my first soccer game of the school year. I made a quick turn without positioning my feet correctly on the ground. I thought that I broke my knee, but I never knew that after that day I would have experienced the worst day a month after on February 15th.
When I first thought about how soccer impacted my life, nothing really came to mind. I was that kid who mostly looked forward to the end of the game snacks and bringing around the goal jar. But when I actually began thinking about more about playing soccer I realized that soccer was the first place where I was fully submerged into something completely new. I learned how to make friends, how be a leader, and how to have good sportsmanship. These are all things that have made me into the person I am today and it all began on the soccer field.
Than, I felt a whole lot of pressure on my shoulders. This question can be difficult to answer under any circumstance, but I found it intensely challenging when you had your hand wrapped in a ten-pound cast. I had a minor volleyball accident during the first month of my last high school season that caused me to not be able to play for almost half the season, which was a downfall for my teammates and me. However, the injury may have done one positive thing… it helped me figure out what I wanted to do in life.
The start of my freshman year was a thrilling experience for me. To start out my freshman year I made the schools Varsity soccer team, a huge accomplishment for me. However, I was naïve to the coming situation to myself. I was on the path to continuous harassment from teammates as I was surrounded by seniors. Many of the seniors had egos, full of themselves in every aspect possible.
At Carmel High school, Chandler Grey was the guy with it all, he was the star striker for the soccer team, he was dating the captain of the cheerleading squad, all the guys wanted to be just like him, but, he was flunking, If his grades stooped any lower he would be benched on the championship game, and no one would want that. Ryan had a big Algebra final coming up and if he didn’t pass he wouldn’t be able to play in the big championship game. Ryan had been studying every moment of everyday, yet he still wasn’t confident he would pass. He knew the formulas and he knew the expressions, but something in the back of his head was screaming at him to study more. He felt as though the weight of the soccer teams future was on his shoulders.
Participating in high school soccer has taught me many life lessons, of which “determination” was the most important. At Fleetwood High School, soccer is a highly respected sport. As a freshman, I competed against many talented upper classmen for a spot on the team. Being one of the youngest players trying out was intimidating, but it forced me to establish a goal for myself. I was determined to, not only make the team, but to make the varsity team.
If I could go back in time I would go back to the day I signed up for school sports and switch the little check in the football box to the soccer box. It was sixth grade year and it was the first year I could play school sports and I was the happiest kid alive. In my head I thought football was going to be super fun but, in reality, I wasn 't very good at it. I stuck with it for a couple years
It was late after school around 3 o’clock. I just had laid down on my bed. I heard my mom yell for me. I ran downstairs and there was my mom all dressed to go somewhere, I asked her “Where are we going?” she replied “ Remember, you have your first soccer practice.”
Soccer has been my life This whole entire time since the day I came out, the story I will talk about is mostly about soccer. The reason why I said ‘’ Soccer has been my life This whole entire time since the day I came out ‘’ is because, on July 20, 2001, there was a soccer player is known as fenômeno AKA (Ronaldo luís nazário de lima) the was the best player in the 2000’s he has played for a lot of years he was born in Brazil he played for Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus and a lot of other teams. On July 20 there was a game which he scored about seven goals they won the game seven zero, on July 27, 2001, seven days after that happened I was born and my dad my uncles, my brothers my whole village were in love with the way Ronaldo plays the way he
My dad told me that if I tried out for sports a lot of things would come from it. I never really believed him until now when I realise how much sports have done for me. It was the day of the tryouts and I didn’t want to go because I had never played soccer before. “Dad, I don’t want to try out for soccer anymore”, I said.
I then had to force myself to rest as much as possible to try and get healthy for my first season of high school basketball. During the time of rest, I really got to learn how important friends and family can really make your life better. Both friends and family helped me strive to get better through physical therapy and getting the possible rest that I need to be able to make a full recovery from the injury. Mainly, the hardest part was me making myself not be able to play when knowing the opportunity to play with my teams was still there even though I was hurt. A main part of my life after the injury was keeping in touch with my families at all time, because they are one of the most important things in your
Competitive soccer can be hard. Especially if you have been doing it for already seven years at such young age. The hardest part of soccer for me is the stress, the pressure, and the expectations of my parents. Of course, since my parents pay so much for me to play competitive soccer, the only sport i’ve played, and the sport that I have a compassion for, they have expectations that can be hard to reach. My mom is the one that cares most.
When I partially tore my ACL I had to show grit not to give up playing football. It was during warmups for a football game in 7th grade. The offense was all lined up with me as an outside receivor with Derrick on the inside. When Nick hiked the ball I raced to the cornerback ,who happened to be Ethan Goodwin, and started blocking him. Then the whistle blew so I looked over at Nick to see what happened and realized that that he had just thrown the ball.
One of my best days was when my soccer team won the championship. I won several other championships ,but with other teams. This was my first season playing with this team. The major characters in this event were me, my teammates, my coaches and the parents. This event took place in a park at sanger during the summer.
If you give your heart to soccer, you will never be able to completely leave it. One-day soccer will hide under the roof. However, now it does not matter what is the weather, whether the field is soft or hard, icy or wet. Every time I put my kit on, I have a feeling that nothing cannot stop me. I remember my last game the Kuwaiti Division One.
