My dad told me that if I tried out for sports a lot of things would come from it. I never really believed him until now when I realise how much sports have done for me. It was the day of the tryouts and I didn’t want to go because I had never played soccer before. “Dad, I don’t want to try out for soccer anymore”, I said. But he responded, “Aaron you are going to try out for soccer and if you don’t like it when you’re done then you don’t have to play”. I purposely hid my cleats and shinguards in my closet in hopes that my dad wouldn’t find them, but sure enough, he found them. He carried me to the car as I was kicking and shouting, “I don’t want to go!” Somehow I was strapped in and on my way to the soccer field. In the car I was crying so much my nose started to run. So, I decided to try and make friends with the other kids. I walked up to two of them and said, “Hey guys, do you want to be friends?” They just looked at me like I was wearing a tutu and walked away.
