I slammed the door in the drunk man’s face, trying to lock the deadbolt, but failing. The man was asking for my parents. I ran to find one of them, and told them a drunk man was at the door. My dad unhappily went to see what the man wanted. While he went, I kept asking myself, “Why is that guy here?” Earlier that evening, my mom had left to go grocery shopping. It was just my dad and some of us kids at home. It was getting dark, and the garage needed to be locked. To us kids, locking it seemed like a lot of work. Eventually though, my dad told me that I needed to do it. I got my shoes on. Making sure to take my time, I tied them.
