Identity is an important part our lives. Without our identity, we would be a blank canvas. Our identity is what makes us unique and different from others and how we value ourselves as a whole. It is important because it shows the way we feel about ourselves and our characteristics. Your identity is unique and custom to yourself making you special.

Identity is an important theme in The Outsiders novel. The characters change throughout the book and develop their personal identities.
Most of The Socs identity as the rich and decent people. They think they are worth more and have a good reputation in the society. The Socs usually get drunk and always have an eye out to start a fight with The Greasers.
The Greasers identity as the people who have been through a lot. They usually have long greasy hair and do drugs. Society sees a Greaser as dirty trouble but in reality, they are just a bunch of kind and caring kids. In the event of trying to save Pony, Johnny kills Bob and Johnny and Pony run away from the fuss. During the time when they were on the run, they also managed to save a few children from a church fire. During this Johnny gets injured very badly and end up losing him.
