One Friday afternoon headed home, kind of in a hurry to get home so my friend and I could get to the football game. My dad hates it when I’m late, and I was kind of running a little behind because I had to pick up one of my friends from her house and she wasn’t ready. So I was speeding home and I turned on my county road, probably 200 yards from my house when I got behind this really slow car, it’s a two lane road so I decided I would pass them on the opposite side… BAD DECISION. I’ve never been late to a football game. EVER. He asks me what happened and to please give him my side of the story. So I told him everything that happened in my eyes. He told me that since it was my fault I would have to be the one to receive the ticket. So he wrote me a $700 ticket and he told me that I need to go to the courthouse if I couldn’t pay that and I could look at other options. After all this, we still made it to the game on time, and the only person badly injured was me, and my AC joint in my shoulder was broken. But on the bright side, we still made it to the game on time. Another downfall was that next Monday we went to the courthouse and my dad told me that I had to do community service. So I had 32 hours of community service and 3 years’ probation. I can’t get a ticket for 3 years or my license will be revoked for the remaining time. Moral to the story, don’t hit a cop and take your time while you’re driving. It’s okay to be a little late. You’d rather be late than dead
