The buzzer going off, the crowd cheering, for the first time in school history, Trinty Clinton Township are state chapions. That team made history, acheiving far more than what any spartan was thought possible, but this team accomplished far more than a state championship. There has been Trinity greats that have made a mark in the Trinity basketball program history. I knew, this being my last year at trinity, that I had had mighty big shoes to fill if I also wanted to make a perminet mark at trinity. "The differance between successful people and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather in a lack of will"- Vince Lambardi.
The time I almost got cut from the basketball team.the first day of tryouts I didn’t come because I didn’t have my physical at the time.but when I got it I was there and lots of people were and only fifteen could qualify. On the first day all we had to do was shoot and show our form. But we did do something a little fun you had to get a partner and perform some moves on him. So the coach said “go” me and my partner which was Robert.
The Golden State Warriors have broke the Chicago Bulls for the NBA record of most wins in a single season. The Warriors beat the Memphis Grizzlies 125 to 104 on Wednesday, April 13 in California and broke the record that was set in 1995-96 by the Bulls. The Warriors finished with a record of 73 wins and 9 losses this season and are now playing in the playoffs. Stephen Curry also hit his 400th three-pointer during his last regular season game breaking his old record from last season. Hopefully the Golden State Warriors will continue to play as well as they are so they can become back to back champions.
I can not remember a year where I was as excited for the Vikings season and then this goes and happens. Twenty minutes into practice on Tuesday Teddy Bridgewater took a snap from under center and as he was dropping back to pass he screamed in agony and went down. He suffered some sort of non contact knee injury. Everybody in the building could tell how serious the injury was by the reaction of the players, some cursed, some threw helmets, and some even prayed.
When I was younger, one of the first things people would ask me when we met was “Where are you from?” In response, I always said, “McKeesport”, but felt contempt every time that word left my mouth because I knew my hometown was a cesspool of poverty and demoralization. Even though I still know McKeesport is a bad place to live, the feeling attached to my response to inquiries about my hometown has changed. Instead of contempt, I feel determined to enact a citywide metamorphosis. Growing up, there were two contrasts in my life.
Me and one of my friends were getting ready for a huge day. We had this super awesome idea to go to Lagoon for the whole day. Opening to closing. We had packed lunches and everything. Right before we were about to leave my house to head to lagoon, my mom asked if she could talk to me.
It was October, 21st the Riverside High School Bulldogs Homecoming game. They were 8 and 1 and they needed this win to advance to the State Championship. Throughout my years of participating in high school basketball, I have overcome many challenges. My freshmen year, basketball started in a way I never expected. Continuing on, I understood the real meaning of hard work, and what it takes. Lessons I learned in basketball will carry on throughout my life, helping me to become a successful adult.
To generate as much momentum that I could into my basketball shot, I had to stretch out, and use all my body segments, time my body segments, sequence my body segments and use full range of motion. By stretching out my muscles before performing the free throw, my muscles were able to contract with optimal force and therefore assist to generating maximum force and momentum. Using all of my body segments meant that
Careers and College Research Paper Following high school I would like to join the Navy and become a Navy Seal. The Navy Seals is one the few special forces the Navy has to offer. Seals stands for SEA, Air, and Land. This program has a very a high standard of physical fitness and mental toughness.
I'm in the car driving toward the high school thinking about nothing except what I'm expected to do today in my game. I have my headphones on and nothing else is phasing me. People could be yelling in my ear and I wouldn't hear them. I'm only focusing on one thing. We all sit outside our locker room with our headphones on waiting for coach to come and unlock the door.
Four years of college football has come and gone for me, as if it all happened it the blink of an eye. However, there is one specific moment that served as a turning point in my career. It came on a rainy Saturday night game against Marietta College. A sophomore at the time, I had little varsity experience as it was only the second game of the season. I never planned on entering the game, our starting tight end at the time was very talented and I received little reps in practice.
The modern horror genre constantly uses sleep as a plot device. In A Nightmare on Elm Street, Freddy Krueger haunts people in their sleep and, in countless other movies and literature, ghosts and dolls always attach when the moon has risen. Even in reality, sleep can be horrifying. People can sleepwalk, have nightmares, or even awake temporarily paralyzed (sometimes even for hours). So, the use of sleep in the horror genre is anything but unusual and the device is definitely not a new construct.
Putting the fun back into physical activity for children will do wonders to foster PA. You don’t see children playing in neighborhoods anymore. A constructive approach to developing outdoor free play is, in my opinion, the cornerstone of developing a love of doing, moving, and being physically active. Many children don’t enjoy the harshness of competitive sport (I was one of them) but do enjoy being out and about doing things. As a child play that involved running, cycling, swimming, and skating were all the things that I truly loved.
On a hot, sunny day of June I went to the park and played in a 5 on 5 basketball tournament with a few friends I have been playing basketball with since the 3rd grade. We didn’t have many people with height our tallest guy was just about 6’2 but that didn’t stop us from setting a goal to win this tournament and show no weakness to the other teams. We had the talent, the heart, and the discipline to push ourselves and to try and win this tournament. We started warming up on half of the court while our first competitors in the orange jerseys warmed up on the other half, the official finally blew the whistle and told us to get our starting 5 ready and on the court.
