The closed curtain was the only thing separating us from an audience of five hundred people. One would think that after three months of rehearsals I would feel prepared for this, but I didn’t.

To this day, performance offers me that same joy and freedom, but it has been enhanced by the knowledge that I can help others escape their realities too. That empowerment has facilitated focus in my artistic pursuits and made them my life’s purpose. As I grew, I began dance lessons, sang in more advanced choirs, and auditioned for community theatre shows, performing in my first musical around age seven. I found I loved Musical Theatre far more than any other art form, despite my young age preventing me from articulating this passion.
Singing has been my passion ever since I was a little kid. However, when I was younger, I was always shy and never wanted to let anyone hear me sing. After school, I would spend countless hours in my bedroom belting “Part of Your World” to my stuffed animals, but I refused to let anyone, even just my parents, hear my performance. After overhearing me singing, my mom encouraged me to get involved in musical theater. Just the thought of getting up in front of anyone terrified me.
The biggest applause I received from performing music was when I stopped playing midway through a sonata and graciously bowed and smiled off stage. I was also four years old and performing at my mother’s recital. As a pianist, my mother taught me the C Major scale before the alphabet. As a four year old performer, stage fright did not exist in my vocabulary and neither did self-consciousness. As we grow older and become more aware, that boldness begins to fade.
Thinking critical and creative is a two side blade, it is definitely encourage in all the levels of education; but at least in the field of accounting, I could not agree this is some quality employer really care or expect from an employee. What an employer care more about is how effetely an employee can finish routine work. Too much creative might be a threat for the job itself. However, it is a complete different story in the movie industry, thinking critical and creative would be one of the most value asset an employee could offer, and that is what I am good at.
On May 20th,2020, I graduated from high school. It was like a novel. I was oozing with zeal and happiness. My friends, siblings, parents, and grandparents where there to witness my special day. Normally, I would be happy i'm leaving,but I wasn't.

I was new to Mountain View Elementary and I only had one friend. I wanted more friends of course. As a Hispanic American child living in Utah you notice your skin, the way you talk, and the way look is different. I never knew being different would make me upset.
At the age of fourteen my life took a completely different course. My mother at the age of thirty-seven had great news for us, she announced that she was pregnant with my fourth sibling. At her first appointment she was diagnosed with kidney failure and was going to be put in Dialysis every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday for the rest of her life. I never imagined how one simple diagnose would change my life dramatically. I was the oldest of three, me who was fourteen my younger sister Roxanna who was twelve, my sister Rocio who was seven and my brother Isaias who was three.
Weee wooooo, weee wooo, as the lights flash and the sirens blare. Vroom, vroom, crash, boom, bang. “Pull over”, “This is the police”, “Puts your hands up”. Sitting on the sizzling blacktop at my preschool playing with my most coveted toys. Police cars, fire trucks and army guys.
My life was ordinary until when I was seven years old. Somehow, my parents were thinking about going to small pacific island called Saipan, which is six hours away from my home country called, “South Korea”. My sister knew the reason why we were going to Saipan. On the other hand, I was young and I thought we were going on a vacation trip, so I was really pumped about it. However, the life in Saipan was not going right for me.
During the past two summers I have spent volunteering, I have met many campers who have never done anything pertaining to the performing arts before. Introducing something that I care about so deeply to eager kids make the experience much more special. I knew theater’s capability to bestow important communication skills, and I hoped for kids to leave the camp with a stronger sense of confidence. To encourage excitement and lead these children to discover an appreciation towards an activity means a lot to me, as I never had the chance to get involved and explore those types of feelings at that age. While all the kids I meet at camp inspire me in their own ways, it is a ten year old girl named Samantha who has impacted me
