I walked over to the pool when I suddenly slipped and fell in the water. I was not a strong swimmer, and without an inner tube to help me I was even worse. I could feel myself slipping into the darkness, when a large splash happened next to me and something grabbed me from the water. I looked up and saw my dad, a hero.
What if I'm laughed at by everyone? To my surprise, I started hearing chants and claps from kids were yelling that I could do it. My fear turned from scared to a smile. All of a sudden, kids were exiting the pool and coming to stand by my side. When it was completely empty, nobody said a word.
Ways Through the Waves This summer break, I went to Oceanside for a vacation with my family. We haven’t been to the beach for five years and we finally went. I was so excited for our visit at the beach. Ever since I was little I was always scared of stepping or going into the water because I always thought that a shark would come and eat me. This time I actually went into the water.
You’d think when someone says, “Oh, I had a near-death experience one time,” that people would be in their face worriedly asking them what happened. If I were to explain to people how I almost died, they would be laughing. During the summer, my family flew to Cancun, Mexico for a vacation. The hotel was quite charming, and there was a giant pool! Which was actually unfortunate because I couldn’t swim at that time.
I got off the edge of the pool and i put my feet on the first step, the second step, and i ran out of the water. I tried again to go back into the water. I reached out to my dad to swim to him. I jumped off the step and i started to swim. All i could here is everyone cheering for me.
Prologue 1999 It started with a phone call from his ex-girlfriend, the sweet, beautiful woman he dumped when he got into UC Davis Veterinary School. " He’s drinking again," she told me. "I'm worried about him."
and I shoved my rescue tube into her arms. Panicking she grasped the tube as we floated to the side of the pool. Back on land my body shook from the adrenaline surging through my system. After she finished coughing the woman said, “Oh my god I thought I was going to die, thank you for saving me”. I became a lifeguard at age 16 because I love helping people.
I jumped and for a split second stayed in the air doing somersaults, then later I felt the rush of water in my face. I broke out to the surface spraying water everywhere. It felt so good, the water all over my body swishing and swashing smoothly. I swam a few yards to fall upon Daddy and Uncle. They were taking photos and their bright pink floaties dragged through the water.
Jacob firmly told Jenna and I to grab a paddle, but after five minutes of trying to paddle with all the Superman strength we could find we were going nowhere. While we were sitting there and this tornado take us away Jacob asked if I could stick my paddle in the water and see if I could feel the muddy and sticky bottom of this cloudy and murky water. Nervous as someone who is about to skydive for the first time, I stuck my banana yellow paddle in the water. In absolute silence my cousins watched as the paddle and my arm went underwater . Looking at Jacob and Jenna I shook my head and at that point we gave up.
You never know how helpless you are until you have a near death experience. One summer, when I was young, my family and I went to a water park. I didn’t know how to swim, but thankfully the majority of the park required no swimming ability. For one of the rides, I wanted to get out of my tube and jump around, but once I climbed out, I immediately sunk to the bottom. I tried to kick back up and just as my legs gave in, a lifeguard climbed in and pulled me up.
It was a chilly day when it started. Leaves had just begin to fall ever so gracefully. Joey was just getting the hang of high school. He had known Jessica for a while. Maybe even for 5 years.
I woke up before the Sun shined through my window. I happily stretched and got out of bed. I put on my business uniform, because I had been promoted. As the new executive manager of Walmart, I had to move to the central office in San Francisco. I booked the first flight in the morning, because I wanted to tour the building with my co-workers.
The water that was thrown on the float to make it slippery worked, my foot slipped, and I fell into the water. Everything seemed to go slow motion, although the second I hit the water everything speed up. I had fallen into the deep end of the pool. I began to panic, frantically waving my hands trying to stay afloat, I tried to tread the water and to make to the edge of the pool. I tried to call the lifeguard but water filled my mouth, choking me.
It was March 6, and it was a really busy day. I was running around, in Splash Lagoon in Erie, PA and making sure everything was arranged correctly before all my guests arrived at 12:00 pm. I looked at my waterproof watch, as I stood in the kiddie pool with little slides and little fountain decorations set up in the 2 feet water and ready to be played with. “Hey little kid, watch out!” I yelled and hurried to the kid who almost ran into the table, that was placed in the middle of the water.
We jumped off the boat and swam the the edge of the rock. I made it to the rock first and started to climb it but then i realized that there was a little trail. I climb to the top and thru my pfd off into the water for if we jumped with it on when we hit the water it would shock us but there was a counselor's that was also a lifeguard at the bottom I jumped first off the high cliff. All I heard was 5-4-3-2-1 JUMP!!!
