I was in my Junior season for football, and it was looking to be a good one. We started off doing well, but we struggled at time, though we bent but didn’t break. We kept at perfect record of 5-0 heading into our homecoming game, and we had just came off a huge last second victory over a top-rated team in the state. I was injured during that game but failed to tell anyone, failure number one. I told myself that I was going to play the homecoming game because we were playing the worst team in the state and figured I couldn’t hurt myself any worse, failure number two.
A team in Concord, Calif., has had a win streak of 151 games. North Atlanta High School 's team can barely pull off three wins this season. The Spartans have had plenty of perfect seasons. North Atlanta closest time ever in the school’s history was to getting a perfect season was going 7-3 in 2010.The team from California doesn 't know the meaning of defeat. North Atlanta barely knows the feeling of winning.
The buzzer going off, the crowd cheering, for the first time in school history, Trinty Clinton Township are state chapions. That team made history, acheiving far more than what any spartan was thought possible, but this team accomplished far more than a state championship. There has been Trinity greats that have made a mark in the Trinity basketball program history. I knew, this being my last year at trinity, that I had had mighty big shoes to fill if I also wanted to make a perminet mark at trinity. "The differance between successful people and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather in a lack of will"- Vince Lambardi.
The time I almost got cut from the basketball team.the first day of tryouts I didn’t come because I didn’t have my physical at the time.but when I got it I was there and lots of people were and only fifteen could qualify. On the first day all we had to do was shoot and show our form. But we did do something a little fun you had to get a partner and perform some moves on him. So the coach said “go” me and my partner which was Robert.
“Why can’t we get into our freaking offense!?” This is all I really remember from Coach McKendrick at halftime last year against Niles North in what was a tough night for our basketball team. Prior to this, we beat New Trier at home and then went on the road and beat the pre-season unanimous vote to win conference, Highland Park, in our first conference game. Before the New Trier game, our game plan was simple: we were smaller, but faster, so we were going to run the court and make this is a fast pace game. We executed our gameplan, and we won.
Finally, I have experienced obstacles in my own life. In college I tried out for the St. Ambrose Band. I was very nervous the day of the audition. In fact, after listening to the person performing ahead of me, I was tempted to leave the audition and tell people I just didn’t make it.
The start of my freshman year was a thrilling experience for me. To start out my freshman year I made the schools Varsity soccer team, a huge accomplishment for me. However, I was naïve to the coming situation to myself. I was on the path to continuous harassment from teammates as I was surrounded by seniors. Many of the seniors had egos, full of themselves in every aspect possible.
Throughout my years of participating in high school basketball, I have overcome many challenges. My freshmen year, basketball started in a way I never expected. Continuing on, I understood the real meaning of hard work, and what it takes. Lessons I learned in basketball will carry on throughout my life, helping me to become a successful adult.
Everyday people have the opportunity to determine and construct their own decisions and fulfill personal desires. People don 't control their fate, however their destiny lies within their own hands. Believing in fate means supernatural power beyond your control predetermines your life. Ambition and effort towards your goal will determine the outcome of your future. Through experience I 've conquered and obtained my long term goal of playing collegiate level basketball.
Running down the court, people cheering your name, that's basketball. In this essay I will be discussing how I started as a dancer, and then suddenly found a new love for basketball. The first paragraph will begin to talk about how I began to talk about how I started to doubt myself when I first started playing. In the second and third paragraphs I will speak about my evolution as a basketball player. I was first dancing at the Pella Dance Studio, I was three.
This may be the biggest failure of my life so far- at the time, I felt there was no way to overcome or fix it. Over the past year, and over the course of writing this essay, I’ve realized that there hasn’t and probably will never be a point in my life where I will experience failure and not be ashamed or terrified of it. Most likely, a failure won’t go away, and the path to inspiring myself to overcome one is difficult. Remaining involved in my extracurricular activities, for one, has aided me in moving past this failure. Deciding to audition for a smaller group at dance taught me a lot about putting myself out there- that it is impossible to be a perfect candidate.
Brailey Snyder It was the day of basketball tryouts for AYBA, and the tryouts were in the front gym at St.Amant middle school. Two weeks after basketball tryouts I had my first practice. I met my coaches their names were coach Daniel and coach Jake. I also met my teammates their names were Bailey, Braille, Drew, Taylor, Emma, Kristen, Anglesey, and Makayla.
A mere 29.5 inches in circumference, a basketball may not seem quite important. The Earth’s circumference is 1.5778 billion inches, so a basketball is but a speck of dust compared to the Earth. However, a basketball means so much more than its 29.5 inches: it is my hobby, my passion. Ever since I was a tiny boy, I have loved the game of basketball with every ounce of my heart, and it is the same case today. Some people dream of flying down to the Caribbean for a tropical getaway, paradise for those tourists.
I've learned that you should never give up, and always try your best. My story started this year. I had just tried out for a competitive basketball league and I was very anxious because I didn't know what to expect at tryouts and what to expect if I made the team. I was scared I was going to mess or do something incorrect. I'd been playing basketball since the 2nd grade, so I was an experienced player.
Air ball— again. My form was lost, coordination gone, and so was my patience. I’ve stopped playing basketball for 3 months mainly because of school work and things going on in my life. I was determined to get my skills back no matter how long it’ll take. I started a game of basketball with other people inside the gyms court.
