It was the last inning in our all-star game, and we were losing 10 to 8. Our team had 2 outs and we couldn’t get the third. Our pitcher was doing bad, throwing all balls, while all of us in the field were tired, ready to fall asleep at any moment. There goes another walk. They score again.
In 2013 at Old Dominion University for four years of college, only 23.1 percent of students graduated, five years of college, only 45.2 percent of students graduated, and for six years of college, only 51.2 percent of students graduated. It is kind of upsetting that not many students graduate at the same time as everyone else. One of the reasons why is that certain students do not take their work seriously at all. But, if a student works late, it would be hard for them to get their schoolwork done by the day it is due. As a Thomas Nelson Community College student, I need to get my degree as soon as everyone else does, even though college is difficult.
For this project I will be analyzing how terrorism is framed differently and how the agendas are set differently depending on the political affiliation of a given news network. I will compare how different politically based media outlets differ in framing and agenda setting of terrorism. The two outlets I will be looking at are MSNBC and Fox News. I am eager to see how vastly different terrorism is represented by varying news outlets based on political affiliation. MSNBC is an American news cable and satellite television network that provides news coverage and political commentary from NBC News.
Lani: I was helping for someone’s project for COMM 245; I was in the video lab, in the studio. I was on campus and decided to contact everyone I knew who comes to the school. I remember I sent out a snap saying guys I think there is a shooting, be careful and then I started sending out individual texts to people making sure they were okay, like hey are you good? Stay out of an area.
Dancing Through the Pages Reading has never been a hobby of mine. Yeah, I would read the required books for school or may pick up a random book occasionally, but I have never been a bookworm. Some books I read in class were, personally, not stimulating. There was one, however, that stood out to me and grabbed my attention from the very first page, not knowing that this book, later on, would leave an impact on my fascination of a previous decade and dance career.
Essay about WW2 Did you know how much people suffered during world war 2? People that wasn’t in the army during world war 2, often sat terrified of either there kids or parents that were in the army would get killed or that someone would storm into their house and kill them. That is just one of the reasons that why I think we should learn about world war 2, to get to know how people had it while there dearest where out fighting and they probably would never see them again.
“Set,” Bang! The gun goes off and I quickly shoot ahead of the rest of the field. My strides long and quick as I sprint for the track. I can’t hear anyone behind me, I must be a good 10 meters in front of everyone else. I run around the track and continue to sprint across the field back to the crowd of parents, friends, and girls soccer players who were forced to attend this last cross country meet of the season.
By graduating a year before expected, the student can be employed full time without having to work around school time. This allows them to support themselves and make their own money. Which is a great benefit when still young because young adults have many wants they would like to satisfy. Once
At the beginning of my sophomore year, August 2015, I fractured my left ankle. My second season of cross country had just begun. The whole team had a Saturday practice at Atlanta Memorial Park. We came to this park for a time trial. Not being able to run was going to be a challenge for me.
ECO completely omitted my main reason for taking a full time course. I was working merely as an "assistant" and had no professional growth. I clearly remember stating that, "there were no new assignments or projects for me" and I wasn't working well as he stated and respected ECO failed to interpret it in its true meaning. My career got stuck at a point and I was restricted to basic duties and sometimes I was made fun for having no new dimensions in career, emotionally and mentally I started to suffer because of this. As time passed, I realized my true potential is being wasted and in order to save my chances of a flourishing career, my professional confidence and professional and self respect.
Amy Purdy asks “If your life was a book and you were the author, how would you want your story to go?” To start off, every person is born into different situations in different parts of the world. Some people are able to choose our environment and community others have limited mobility. People have different rights and social abilities around the world, but we all want to achieve happiness. Despite there being different levels of control over ones situation, the one thing we are in control of is how each person reacts to the situation at hand.
The first ACTSage awareness step was enough for me to know I needed to make changes and to get started doing it. It’s that way for everyone and, just as I experienced, most people find that taking even simple steps can make life better. If you are like me and others, by now, you may be clearing out some of the dysfunctional support or transactional connections wearing you down. You may have set better boundaries and no longer tolerate poor service. You may be taking time to care for yourself.
My name was given. I grew up with someone always giving me something, or taking it away. I’m different now. Where I grew up, there were always sandstorm during spring time. The whole sky would turn yellow and we all have to put on some scarves to fight against the sand.
Starting over Starting over might be easy when you are young, but if you are middle age and already have a stable and calm life, it is very hard to start over. My family and I moved from Egypt to The US three years ago, so we had to start from scratch. We found systems in the US are different from my country. After we found a good residence, our concern was finding employment. I was a science teacher in my country, so I tried to find a job in the educational field, but there were a lot of requirements to get a job as a teacher.
In the next couple of years, there are some things that college will provide for me. One of these being that I think that I will become a more open-minded person. Living in a small Kansas town, I am not exposed to much diversity. In moving on to a four year school, my eyes will be opened to the different types of people and places that I have yet to experience. Another thing I will get out of college is more opportunities for myself.
