Baseball is an American pastime and when I was younger I really wanted to be apart of the sport. When I was about 4 or 5 was when I first started T-ball and from that day I fell in love with the sport. It helped that baseball was the first sport that was introduced to me when I could learn to play sports and be active. I would wake up every Saturday or Sunday for about 9 weeks and compete for the league title and years went by and we were so close every year to winning it. Finally my last year in the league was 8th grade and I was determined to win the title because I have been runner-ups, however I had never won it before. I needed this title and I wanted it, it was my final year in the league. My dad was my coach every year from T-ball up …show more content…

We breeze through the first couple rounds of games and eventually we made it to the finals, the game went into extra innings and ended with a walk-off hit from the opposing team. I was upset, but I knew I had to show good sportsmanship and show respect towards the other players. After the game both teams lined up to get their trophies and I have yet another “Runners-up” trophy, however the All-Stars were being announced and I had made the All-Star team every year I have played in the league. I was waiting for my name and it was getting towards the end of the list and I was the last name to be called out. My dad was very proud with how I acted after the game and that I made the All-Star team every year I have played in the league, so we went out to dinner after the game even though we both were in bad moods. He explained that even though we lost sportsmanship is very important because when baseball becomes more serious it is important to other coaches to show respect to other players. He taught me a lot more then just baseball, he taught me sportsmanship and that is one of the most important traits to have when it comes to
