Basketball and more I have played basketball since the 4th grade, there is nothing I would rather do then play basketball. I remember what it was like when I was younger, I would go to basketball camps here in Alpena and look at the older girls and thought to myself I wanted to be like them. The older girls were so nice and friendly, they did everything they could to teach us little kids, I knew I wanted to help other kids when I grew up, I realized that I wanted to help kids in everything not just basketball. Growing up I wasn’t the best at playing basketball but I never gave up, I would always get back up. I grew up with two older brothers, I learned real quick that I had the choice between being beat down or standing up for myself and keep going. I never gave up and I never will, I became a pretty good ball player and now am teaching the younger kids that I always wanted. You really have to push through the tough things in life because on the other side there is a great out come especially if it is accomplishing your goals. Showing the younger kids how to play is such an amazing feeling, they look up to me not just for basketball but to be there buddy and that’s exactly what I do. …show more content…

When playing basketball I have a whole different mindset I am doing what I love and accomplishing what I always wanted to do when I was younger. I think about the younger kids in the crowd like my little cousins that play basketball, I know that they look up to me because I have been successful in basketball, they will ask me for advice and I will help them and show them.
